Christmas is the time of year that is filled with longing. It’s a time of great joy and also a time of great sadness, when we often times feel our losses and our empty spaces. The loss of a child, a marriage, someone’s health, something financial. We’ll encourage each person to journey through this Christmas season asking God for a miracle wherever and however they need one from Him.
Session 1: “Asking for a Miracle”
Big Idea:
God wants us to ask Him for whatever we need, including things that will take a miracle to happen. We all want to see the miraculous in our lives, but we all have our doubts about it being possible, too.
Session 2: “Make Way for a Miracle”
Big Idea:
A miracle is not something you just ask for and that wait and see what happens. We can make way for a miracle like Simeon did before he got to see Jesus in person like he had asked.
Session 3: “Living Between Miracles”
Big Idea:
The hardest part about miracles is waiting on them. We never know if we between miracles or if our miracle isn’t going to happen, but what God does in us while we are waiting is just as important as what we’re waiting for. God builds faith and hope and trust in us while we wait in our spiritual journeys.
Session 4: “The Mary Miracle”
Big Idea:
God brought hope to a hopeless world through the baby in Mary’s womb. God wants to instill hope for our lives and our world through Christ being conceived in us spiritually like He was conceived in Mary physically.
Session 5: “The Jesus Miracle”
Big Idea:
Jesus to do more than get people into heaven. He was born to bring relief and mercy and compassion on the poor and oppressed. He came to restore God’s dream for the world.
Session 6: “Raising a Miracle”
(Family Service)
Big Idea:
Jesus’ parents were given the responsibility of raising Him, and they raised him in ways that exemplify how to raise kids to become Christ-followers.
